
Two naxalites were reportedly killed in an encounter with police in Siskod police station area of Kankerdistrict in Chhattisgarh.
The DRG personnel swung into action on Sunday night on the information of the Naxalites hiding in the forests of Kadme village. Around 3 am on Monday, the Naxalites started firing on the DRG personnel who retaliated.
It has been reported that the exchange of fire continuedfor some time, but the Naxalites ran towards the forest after failing to counter. Police recovered two bodies of naxalites during a search operation, according to SP Shalabh Sinha.
One of the Naxalites has been identified as DarshanPadda and he was working as Partapur Area Committee Secretary and North Bastar Division Committee Member. Police recovered a huge quantity of explosives, arms-ammunition.
Meanwhile, Ungi Mandavi, a female Maoist, who was injured in a police-Naxal encounter in the border area of Kanker-Narayanpur district, has died during treatment. On October 15, Naxalites had an encounter with Narayanpur DRG in Devgaon Huchdi in whichUngi Mandavi was seriously injured.
