Police Apprehend Suspects in Connection to a string of Home Robberies in Bilaspur; Other Thefts Also Discovered.

The Robbery at Dulari Deshlhare’s Home 

In February 2009, a robbery occurred in the home of Dulari Deshlhare, a resident of the Officer Employee Colony in Vaishnavi Vihar near Uslapur police station in Sakri district Bilaspur. The thief entered the house and broke the almirah in the bedroom to steal valuable gold and silver jewellery and cash amounting to approximately Rs 10 lakh 30 thousand 859. Dulari Deshlhare reported the incident to the Police Station Sakri the next day.

The Police Investigation and Arrests

 In response to the seriousness of the robbery, Superintendent of Police Bilaspur Santosh Kumar Singh (IPS) directed the police to take legal action immediately to catch the thieves. The police installed over 100 CCTVs on the main road and around the site of the incident. The suspects were identified and arrested after closely inspecting the camera footage. During interrogation, the police discovered that the delinquent child was involved in the matter and had been detained in other cases of robbery in the past too. The main accused, Virendra Sahu, and the children were responsible for the theft. They hid the stolen goods near Virendra’s mother’s house, where the police recovered them. The police also detained the six adults and two teenagers struggling with the law.

Other Thefts Discovered Following an investigation, The police discovered different thefts in several cases involving Thana Tarbahar and Civil Line. Several theft cases have occurred in various places. In one case, a railway sub-engine er’s jewellery, camera, cash, and other items got looted. In another case, thieves stole a chief controller’s speaker, watch, crockery, and jewellery, and household items were vandalized. In another case, a resident’s TV, and jewellery got stolen.
