Passenger trains would be restored from July 16: Tripathi. MLA Shailesh Pandey demanded a separate line for transporting goods, including the fourth line.

Bilaspur City MLA Shailesh Pandey met Railway Board Chairman Vinay Kumar Tripathi, who reached Bilaspur amid the outcry over the cancellation of trains and discussed various issues. MLA Pandey said that passengers are suffering a lot because of train cancellations. Bilaspur is the profit-making zone for the railways, yet it is deprived of passenger facilities.
The MLA demanded Railway Board Chairman redevelop and modernise Bilaspur railway station, to which the Chairman of the Railway Board expressed his consent.
The Board chairman assured that the passenger trains would be restored from July 16 and efforts will be made not to cancel the operation of passenger trains in future. Railway General Manager Alok Kumar, Alderman Shailendra Jaiswal, and Akhilesh Gupta were present.
