Padma Shri Award for Pandiram Mandavi of Bastar, CM Vishnu Deo Sai Extends Congratulations

Pandiram Mandavi, a resident of Garhbenjal in the Bastar region, has been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri Award 2025 by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. He has been honoured for his exceptional and noteworthy contribution to the fields of tribal musical instrument making and woodcraft artistry.
Mandavi’s dedicated efforts to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the traditional Gond and Muria communities have not only brought national recognition to Bastar’s art forms but have also become a source of inspiration for future generations.
Congratulating Mandavi, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that this honour is a proud reflection of Chhattisgarh’s tribal talent and rich cultural legacy. He added that artists like Mandavi have proven through their devotion that the indigenous art of our land has the potential to shine on the global stage. The Padma Shri award, he said, is a significant achievement in bringing national pride to Bastar’s folk traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural consciousness.
