No-confidence motion brough by BJP against Chhattisgarh government in Assembly

BJP has sent a written proposal to the Assembly Secretariat demanding a discussion on the same
House was adjourned till Thursday after the Opposition created uproar
Raipur:The main opposition in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, BJP, brought a no-confidence motion against the state government as the monsoon session of the House began on Wednesday. A written proposal has been sent to the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat demanding discussion on the same. Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said, “Given today’s situation, this government has no right to continue in power.”
Kaushik said, the way the government is running in Chhattisgarh, the promise which was made before the elections, after coming to the power, all these promises vanished. He said that suicide, murder and other crime have increased here. Theft and robbery are increasing continuously. House of MLA KeshavChandra was also burgled. “We have given a no-confidence motion against this government by taking all these things in view of the constitutional crisis that has now arisen. We would request the Speaker to discuss it. Accept this no-confidence motion because now this government does not have the right to remain in power even for a minute,” Kaushik said in the House.
BJP MLAs claimed that they also have the support of JanataCongress Chhattisgarh on the no-confidence motion. BJP Legislature Party whip in the assembly Shivratan Sharma has also issued a whip. This means that all the MLAs have to remain united in support of the motion.
BJP has 14 MLAs in Chhattisgarh. If the Janata Congress supports the no-confidence motion, then this number will increase to 17. The ruling party Congress has 71 MLAs. In such a situation, even if the entire opposition i.e. two BSP MLAs get together, they will not be able to reach the magic number to bring down the government.
The House was adjourned till Thursday amidst uproar created by the Opposition.
