Narayanpur DRG jawan dies in accidental firing

A District Reserve Guard (DRG) constable died on Sunday after his weapon went off accidentally in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district. The incident occurred at the Kadenar camp while security personnel were boarding their vehicle following an anti-naxal operation.
The deceased has been identified as Constable Baldev Singh Hurra.
According to official reports, a team of the Narayanpur DRG had launched an area domination operation within the jurisdiction of Chhotadongar police station on 20 December. After completing the mission on the morning of 21 December, the team reached the Kadenar camp. While the personnel were boarding their vehicle, a firearm discharged accidentally. The bullet struck Constable Hurra near his head.
The security personnel immediately rushed the injured jawan to Dhodai hospital for primary treatment. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment due to excessive blood loss.
The district police are currently completing the post-mortem and other legal formalities.
