Chhattisgarh Tourism Board will organize food festivals at five tourist places in the state during the monsoon season. The food festival will be every Saturday-Sunday from July 17 to August 7 at Saroddadar of Kawardha, Gaurela, Pendra, Kabir Chabutra of Marwahi and Mainpat in Surguja, Chitrakot in Bastar. Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is engaged in the preparations for this food festival.
The event will fulfil the vision of the President of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Atal Shrivastava, that the tourist places of the state receive recognition. Chhattisgarh is the heartland of nature and has a 44% forest area. Most of the tourist places here are surrounded by forests. During this monsoon, a food festival is being organized primarily in five tourist places, including Raipur. The food festival will have Chhattisgarhi cuisine and other states and foreign dishes. The final year students of the Institute of Hotel Management, an organization of the Government of Chhattisgarh, will be sent as trainees. Senior Instructors of IHM Raipur will guide the students at different resorts. The selected tourist places will have cultural evenings with music in addition to the Food Festival so that people can enjoy the monsoon to the fullest.
The main objective of this food festival is to make the tourists witness the natural beauty of Chhattisgarh during the monsoon season and to acquaint them with its art, culture, lifestyle and food. An MoU was also completed between the Youth Hostel Association of India and the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board.
