Modi Brought India to 4th Position in Economy: CM Sai

Raipur
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sustained efforts have elevated India’s economic standing from the tenth position in 2014 to the fifth, and now to the fourth globally. Sai made these remarks at a press conference organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Circuit House, Civil Lines, Raipur, to mark 11 years of the Modi government.
Chief Minister Sai, accompanied by Raipur MLAs, highlighted the achievements of both the Modi government and the current BJP government in Chhattisgarh.
Recalling the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister invoked the Indian ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family). He noted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India not only developed its own vaccine to protect its citizens but also supplied vaccines to over 100 other countries. Sai mentioned that several nations likened Prime Minister Modi to ‘Hanuman’, who brought the Sanjeevani herb to revive an unconscious Lakshman, for his efforts in providing life-saving vaccines. He added that this recognition is an honour for all 140 crore Indians.
The Chief Minister asserted that India does not provoke, but if provoked, it retaliates firmly. He cited surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor as examples of India’s strong defence posture. Sai also attributed the success in combating Naxalism in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region to the Prime Minister’s support, which has helped restore peace and order.
He provided statistics on anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh:
- 425 Maoists neutralised
- 1,388 Maoists surrendered
- 1,443 Naxalites arrested
Sai specifically mentioned the successful neutralisation of prominent Naxalites like Baswa Raju and Sudhakar by security forces, crediting the Prime Minister’s backing for these achievements.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment to Chhattisgarh’s poor, recalling PM Modi’s promise that the first act of a BJP government in the state would be to sanction houses for the needy. He stated that 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) houses were sanctioned in the first cabinet meeting.
He informed that construction of PMAY houses is ongoing across the state. During his ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival) visits, he observed that construction delays were due to a shortage of masons because of the sheer volume of houses being built.
