
Raipur: The longest rescue operation “Mission Save Rahul” finally came to an end late on Tuesday just before midnight when the rescuers managed to save a 11-year-old boy Rahul Sahu who fell in an abandoned 80-feet borewell in Janjgir on Friday.
The speech and hearing impaired boy Rahul has been rescued safely after being trapped in the 80-feet deep borewell for nearly 105 hours. There was a wave of joy among the rescuers, administrative staff and family members who were making untiring efforts to reach Rahul. This is said to be the first of its kind borewell rescue operation in the country.
Rahul was taken to the waiting ambulance and was rushed to a hospital in Bilaspur through the green corridor. Health department team present on the spot conducted his primary health checkup. The boy couldn’t speak but expressed happiness with his big eyes after seeing the rescue team.
Meanwhile, the braveheart gave hope to his rescuers every now and then. A snake was spotted in the hole this evening but he dealt with all the dangers with strong spirits to keep himself and the hope of his rescuers alive.
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel who was constantly monitoring the rescue operation and consoling Rahul’s family has praised the bravery of the child and efforts of all who were involved in his safe rescue. He prayed for the lad’s quick recovery.
This rescue operation was very challenging, which has been completed by the rescue teams with a lot of patience, understanding, courage and untiring efforts. Every team and every person involved in the rescue team including NDRF, SDRF, SECL, Chhattisgarh State Police, Indian Army, medical team and administrative officials jointly performed the daunting task of getting Rahul out of the borewell.
