Minister T S Singhdeo took a review of the departmental work.

In a meeting held at the Mahasamund District Panchayat, the state’s Panchayat and Rural Development, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister T.S. Singhdeo examined the departmental works. He reviewed the works of Mahasamund Medical College and Health Department and the progress of various schemes run under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. In the meeting, he directed the medical college to give an indent to CGMSC for medications. He asked the doctors to prescribe generic medicines so that people can get treated at affordable rates.

In the meeting, the Health Minister directed the officers and doctors of the Health Department to make arrangements so that the patients may get the maximum number of drugs free of cost. He asked them to push for taking the medicines sent by CGMSC to the district hospitals. TS Singhdeo directed to expedite the eradication of Sickle cell, T.B and leprosy. Under the Dr Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme, he asked to send a maximum number of proposals for the claim amount for the treatment provided to IPD patients in government hospitals. He expressed unhappiness over the small number of proposals sent by the district hospitals for claims.

In the review meeting, Health Minister inquired about the status of buildings of Community Health Centers, Primary Health Centers and Sub Health Centers, availability of equipment and medicines and staff in the district. He said that separate MBBS doctors are being appointed for the Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic scheme. He also inquired about the progress of Covid vaccination in the district.

Minister T S Singhdeo also reviewed the progress of various schemes run by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. He inquired about the works related to the construction of Gauthan and pasture under the Narva, Garwa, Ghurva, Bari scheme. He has done MNREGA, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), National Rural Livelihood Mission, Rurban Mission, Chief Minister Samagra Gramin Vikas Yojana, Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, GPDP, Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Area Development Authority, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Under the Fourteenth Finance Commission, he reviewed the amount distributed to the Gram Panchayats and the works of Rural Engineering Services.

Officials of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department informed in the meeting that a total of 3802 women in self-help groups are engaged in various employment activities in different Gauthans of the district. Under Mission Amrit Sarovar, estimates have been prepared for 53 out of 75 lakes to be built in the district. During the review of the works of Mahasamund Medical College, Dean Dr Yasmin Khan informed that 90 acres of land are set aside for the new medical college in Kharora. District Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr SR Banjare told in the meeting that in 2021-22, more than one lakh 12 thousand people have been provided treatment in 89 Haat Bazars of the district through the Chief Minister Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme. In the last financial year, about 18,000 children received routine vaccination. In the review meeting, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat S. Alok, Janpad Panchayat President Yatendra Sahu and Civil Surgeon Dr NK Many departmental officers were present.
