Minimata’s contribution in building an egalitarian society cannot be forgotten: CM Baghel

Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the “Pratibha Samman Samaroh” held at Shaheed Smarak Bhawan in the capital city of Raipur today to mark the occassion of Minimata Memorial Day. The event, jointly organized by Guru Ghasidas Literature and Culture Academy, Rajshree Sadbhavna Samiti, and Samast Satnami Samaj Raipur, witnessed an array of dignitaries and community members.
During the ceremony, chief minister Baghel announced a significant initiative, revealing plans to establish model Jaitkham centers in every development block, specifically designed to cater to the needs of the Satnami community. This move aims to uplift and empower the community members, enhancing their access to various resources and opportunities.

He also felicitated 11 exceptional women from the Satnami community, recognizing their outstanding contributions toward social betterment. He administered the oath of allegiance to the newly elected members of the Guru Ghasidas Sahitya Evam Sanskriti Academy, bolstering the commitment to preserve and promote the region’s rich literary and cultural heritage.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Baghel paid heartfelt tributes to the late former MP Minimata ji on her death anniversary. He praised her pivotal role in advocating for a society devoid of exploitation, discrimination, and injustice. Minimata ji, the first woman from Chhattisgarh to serve as a Member of Parliament, left an indelible mark through her tireless efforts to address societal challenges and uplift the marginalized.
Chief Minister Baghel underscored the continued dedication of the government to actualize Minimata ji’s vision of an inclusive and just society. He emphasized that over the last four and a half years, Chhattisgarh has been resolutely working towards fulfilling Minimata ji’s aspirations.
In an impassioned address, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya lauded Minimata’s lifelong commitment to the welfare of the marginalized and underprivileged sections of society. The event witnessed presence of Dr. Mahant Ramsunder Das, Chairman of the State Gau Seva Commission, K.P. Khande, Patron Shakun Dahria, and a gathering of members from the Satnami community.
