Maoists brutally kill villager in Bijapur

Maoists brutally murdered a villager in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, allegedly accusing him of being a police informer. The shocking incident took place late last night in the Usur police station area, with the victim’s family witnessing the entire ordeal.

The deceased has been identified as Madkam Bhima, a resident of Pujari Kanker village.

Sources said that Madkam Bhima was at his home with his family on the night of 1 October when four to five Naxals, dressed in civilian clothes, arrived. They dragged him out of the house in front of his family members.

The Naxals first severely beat Bhima. They then attacked him with an axe, killing him on the spot. After committing the murder, the assailants fled the scene. Villagers informed the police about the incident this morning, 2 October. Police subsequently arrived and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

According to the police, an investigation into the matter has been initiated. Police are currently questioning the victim’s family members and other villagers.


Naxal dump unearthed in Bijapur, explosives recovered

In a separate development, security forces recovered a large dump of Naxal material, including explosives, hidden underground in the forests near FOB Kourgutta in Bijapur district. The recovery was made on Wednesday under the limits of the Pamed police station area.

Security forces recovered the materials that the Naxals had buried in a pit. The recovered items comprise explosives and various articles of daily use.

Police suspect the Naxals had collected and hidden these materials to plot a major attack, a plan thwarted by the security forces’ action.

  • Copper cutters
  • Batteries and solar inverter
  • Lithium battery
  • Spool wire and copper wire
  • Steel containers, plastic drums, and steel pipes
  • Iron files
  • Steel plates, and various sizes of steel wire
  • Naxal uniforms
  • Cobra pattern combat dress cloth
  • Pitthoo (backpacks)
  • Red and green cloth
  • Velcro
