Major initiative of Chief Minister to provide better employment opportunities to youngsters, new trades such as 3D printing and robotics to be introduced in Polytechnic Colleges and ITIs

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel had a meeting with the officials of Tata Technologies and discussed the prospects of introducing new trades such as 3D-printing and robotics in polytechnic colleges and ITIs of Chhattisgarh. He also had discussion regarding the deployment of ultramodern technology for processing and value addition of forest produce and agricultural produce in Rural Industrial Parks. 

In this meeting held at Chief Minister’s office in Vidhan Sabha premise, Baghel spoke to the officials of Tata technologies on various topics, including the possibility of connecting ITIs with gauthans, value addition to the products made in gauthans and the placement of these products in C-Marts for sale. Moreover, cooperation in the work of branding and marketing of finished products in Rural Industrial Park was also discussed. Tata Technologies officials gave a presentation in the meeting. During the presentation, they informed that besides introducing the new trades in polytechnics and ITIs as per the requirements of modern industries, these institutions would also be equipped with the arrangements to provide training to the teachers. It was informed in the meeting that the infrastructure developed by Tata Technologies can be used by the local industries, as per their requirement. Tata Technologies will also work with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Agriculture Science Center) for processing and value addition of agricultural produce. The Agriculture Research and Innovation Center was also discussed in the meeting.

Baghel told the officials of Tata Technologies that Gauthans established in villages of Chhattisgarh are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks, and a provision of Rs 600 crore has been made for the same. In each block, two Gauthans are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks. In these Rural Industrial Parks, cottage industries are being set up, along with the infrastructure for processing of local raw materials and for value addition to the products. Arrangements have been made to sell the finished products through C-Mart. Efforts are also being made to place these products in the national and international market. 

Baghel informed the officials of Tata Technologies that two-year combined courses of ITI with Higher Secondary have been started in 116 schools of Chhattisgarh. Both these courses start from class XI. On completion of this course, students will be awarded a pass certificate of class XII board and a certificate of ITI training. The training provided under this course will unleash a plethora of employment opportunities for the students, as these trades are high on demand in the modern industries.
