📍 Raipur

A live workshop on ‘Laser in Benign Proctology’ was held at the Department of General Surgery, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur. The workshop successfully demonstrated the practical application of modern medical technology to provide relief to patients.

Dr. Manju Singh, Head of the General Surgery Department, presided over the event. Medical Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar, who was present at the workshop, described it as a milestone for the institution.

During the workshop, Dr. Santosh Sonkar informed that laser technology is less painful and involves minimal bleeding compared to traditional methods. Patients can recover quickly and return to their normal lives. Operations for benign proctological conditions such as piles, fistula, and anal fissure were performed using laser technology. The role of lasers in these procedures was discussed in detail.

The workshop demonstrated that the General Surgery Department is not limited to surgical procedures but is also a living example of compassionate and dedicated medical service.

This event served not only to enhance the knowledge of medical practitioners but also as an inspiring experience for students and trainees. The enthusiasm of young doctors to learn modern techniques and their dedication to service were clearly visible.

This initiative by the General Surgery Department is considered an inspiring step in medical science. The department has pledged to continue organising such events in the future to make medical services more accessible and advanced.
