The command of the Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janata Party will once again be handed over to Kiran Dev Singh. The party’s National General Secretary, Vinod Tawde, is expected to announce it today. He reached Raipur late at night. Kiran Dev himself welcomed him at the airport. State in-charge Nitin Nabin was also present. Congress is calling this election of the state president a drama.
On Thursday night, the process of electing the state president was completed in the party’s state office, Kushabhau Thackeray Parisar. According to Khubchand Parikh, who was appointed as the election officer for this, nominations came in three sets. Kiran Dev’s name was in all three. Now, after taking consent from Delhi, Vinod Tawde will announce the name.
Dharamlal Kaushik and Narayan Chandel were considered contenders for the post of BJP state president. These leaders neither denied the news of the claim nor openly accepted anything. When the nomination process started, both leaders were seen shaking hands with Kiran Dev on the stage, and neither put forward their names.
Kiran Dev completed almost a year of his tenure. After the BJP govt was formed in the state, he was given the command of the state president. He completed the work of the organisation. When the Lok Sabha elections came, the performance of the state BJP was good; a BJP MP was elected in Bastar. Kiran Dev is an MLA from Bastar itself.
Now there are municipal elections ahead, and the big leaders of Delhi do not want to disturb the structure of the organisation at the moment. This is also a reason for Kiran Dev being repeated.
Meanwhile, Congress Communication Department head Sushil Anand Shukla described the election as a drama. Kiran Dev is the only candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party who filed a nomination for the post of state president. There was talk of nomination forms from big people, but no one was allowed to file a nomination.
