Raipur: The interview for the post of Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) in the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission has been scheduled for March 26. The decision was made during a meeting of the search committee, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua.
A total of 114 candidates had applied for the position. After an initial scrutiny of applications, the committee shortlisted 33 candidates for the interview.
As per the Supreme Court’s directive issued on January 7, 2025, a search committee was formed to set selection criteria, examine applications, and recommend candidates for the appointment of the CIC. The committee convened on March 5 to review the applications.
The meeting, chaired by Manoj Kumar Pingua, included IAS officers Niharika Barik, Sonmani Bora, and Avinash Champawat. During the scrutiny process, the committee decided to invite only those candidates who meet the following criteria:
- At least 30 years of experience in fields such as law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, public relations, administration, or governance.
- Below 65 years of age.
The shortlisted candidates have been invited for the interview, which will take place at New Circuit House, Naya Raipur, on March 26.
