Infection increases in CG due to delta variant: Elderly, critically ill and children are at greater risk.

Dispatch News.

The increased infection of corona in Chhattisgarh is due to the delta variant. Health officials say it is less dangerous, but the risk of infection is high. It is increasingly preying on those with weak immunity, the elderly, people suffering from kidney, heart and liver disease, children, and pregnant women are at higher risk. A serious thing that has come to the fore is that 50% of the people who died of covid have not got a single dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine.

Dr Subhash Mishra, Director Epidemic Control Department in Chhattisgarh, says a common phenomenon of deaths has been seen in July. Most of the people who died in this were suffering from serious diseases. Their immunity is weak, so the infection has proved fatal for them.

Recently, a 38-year-old youth died. He was suffering from severe kidney disease. He was undergoing dialysis in the hospital. He said that one more thing has come to the fore in the death audit. Last week there were seven deaths in a single day. Three of them had received both shots of the vaccine. One had received only a single dose, but three people did not get a single dose of the vaccine. Doctors say this carelessness can take a toll on those with weak immunity. We currently have an additional layer of protection in the form of a vaccine. It is readily available and has no known side effects. So there is no need to hesitate. Everyone should get both doses of the vaccine. After more than six months of taking the second dose, they should also get a booster dose. Now, these vaccines are being administered free of cost at all government centres.

After several months, covid deaths in Chhattisgarh increased. Twenty patients have died in the state till July 24. Of this, 18 people had fatal kidney, liver, lungs or heart disease. His condition became worrisome due to the grip of corona infection. He later died during treatment. So far, 14 thousand 57 people in the state have lost their lives due to this epidemic.

According to the latest Health Department data, the rate of corona infection in Chhattisgarh has reached the highest level of 4.91, the highest since February 2022. On Sunday, out of 3993 samples tested in the state, 196 people tested positive. Raipur had the maximum number of 39 patients, Raigarh had 30, Rajnandgaon had 26, 20 in Bilaspur and 17 in Baloda Bazar. So far, 11 lakh 62 thousand 588 people of the state have come under the grip of this epidemic.

Indian scientists first caught the delta variant in some samples taken from Maharashtra in October 2020. The B.1.617 was responsible for the increasing cases in Maharashtra.
