Independence Day: CM Honours 35 Police Officers and Personnel with Gallantry and Service Medals

During the main Independence Day function at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai honoured 35 police officers and personnel for their exceptional service by conferring various gallantry and service medals.
The awards included Police Gallantry Medals for 11 recipients, President’s Police Medal for one officer, Police Medal for Meritorious Service for 11 personnel, Correctional Service Medals for five, Home Guard and Meritorious Service Medal for one, and State-level and Director General of Police Awards for six officers and employees.

The President’s Police Gallantry Medal 2025 was awarded to Inspector Lalji Sinha (Kawardha), Inspector Bhuvneshwar Sahu (Raipur), Inspector Sanjay Potam (Dantewada), Head Constable Kamlesh Markam (Dantewada), Deputy SP Anju Kumari (Kawardha), Head Constable Dinesh Bhaskar (Dantewada), Inspector Chaitram Gurupanch (Sukma), Head Constable Hemla Nandu (Dantewada), ASI Pyaras Minj (Dantewada), and Head Constable Manoj Punem (Dantewada). The medal for martyred Head Constable Budhram Korsa (Dantewada) was received by his wife, Sukhmati.

The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service 2025 was conferred upon retired Inspector Mahesh Ram Sahu (Special Branch, Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur).
Among the recipients of the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service were senior officers such as Rahul Bhagat (IPS), Secretary to the CM, and several police personnel from various units, including Special Branch, Anti-Naxal Cell, and district police stations.
The Correctional Service Medal 2025 went to five officials, including Deputy Jail Superintendent Madhu Singh (Central Jail, Jagdalpur) and retired Chief Warder Sahebuddin Ansari (Bemetara).
The Home Guard & Civil Defence Meritorious Service Medal was awarded to Mahesh Kumar Mishra, Nayak, Nagar Sena (Korea district).

State-level honours included the Guru Ghasidas Award (Nisha Sinha, SDPO Gariaband), Governor’s Award (Manjulata Rathore, DSP Raipur), Chief Minister’s Award (Ragini Mishra, SDPO Kurud, Dhamtari), Rani Subarn Kunwar Award (Manjulata Rathore, DSP Raipur), Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Award (Ravindra Anant, Inspector, Ajak Police Station Bilaspur), and the DGP Award (Narmada Kothari, Woman Head Constable, Balod).
The Chief Minister praised the courage, dedication, and service of all awardees, noting that their exemplary work sets a high benchmark for policing and public service in Chhattisgarh.
