In a first, one thousand regional transport facility centers will be started in the state

Raipur: Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, where Regional Transport Facilitation Centers are being started to provide driving license and other related facilities to the people easily. The government is gearing up to open 1000 Regional Transport Facilitation Centers across the state with 40 such centers to be opened in the state capital. Work has already been started in this regard. It has also started in about a dozen places, where people are getting various transport related facilities.

State residents will no longer need to visit the RTO office for getting driving license or for other transport related work from the Regional Transport Facilitation Centers being started under the Transport Department. With the opening of these centers, people will not only get rid of agents, but all the work related to transport will also be completed near home.

Regional Transport Facilitation Center operator Vijay Mishra says that, “People had to make rounds of RTO for getting a driving license, but the government has opened the Transport Facilitation Center in different areas. Earlier, people had to go to the RTO office about 15 km away for license, where they used to stand in queue from morning till evening. However with the opening of Regional Transport Facilitation Center, people are getting the benefit of license and other transport related facilities easily. At present, the work of preparing the learning license is going on in these centers. Apart from this, the receipt is also generated for the name transfer. In future other services will also be available here soon.
