On November 2, ED had arrested Aseem Das with cash worth Rs 5 crore. Quoting the accused, the agency had claimed that the promoters of the betting app had paid Rs 508 crore to CM Baghel. Aseem Das has reportedly written that when the ED caught him and took to jail, after reading the newspaper there, he came to know that a statement has been published in his name that he has given Rs 508 crore to the Chief Minister, which is untrue. Aseem has reportedly claimed that he has studied till 10th. He doesn’t know English. ED people have forcibly signed the statement written in English. Asim wrote reportredly wrote, “I don’t even know what is written in my statement. ED took me on remand for 7 days, but did not interrogate me. No investigation was even done. I was just made to sit. ED kept supplying food,”. Aseem said that he went to Dubai to meet Shubham on 8th October. It was Shubham who had sent him the ticket and invited him to visit. After meeting there, he came back after four days. Shubham called him for the second time on 25th October. There he deceived that he had to do contract work in Chhattisgarh. He brought the iPhone to see the same work. The SIM was already installed in it. He kept his old phone. Reached Raipur here on 1st November, got off the flight and went to the parking lot. I was told that the car was parked there. Based on the car number, he found the car, the key was in it. From there he went straight to Hotel Triton. There, room number 311 was booked for him. “I was told to wait in the same room. Meanwhile, a call came in the name of Shubham and he was asked to come to the main road outside the hotel. When I went out there, a young man wearing a mask came and gave me the phone. I took the phone and went to the parking lot. Then a call came to sit inside the car and open the trunk,” Aseem reportedly said in the viral letter. Shubham is not the promoter of betting, but two youths from Bhilai are the promoters, the viral letter reads. Aseem further said that as soon as he opened the trunk, a man wearing a helmet came on a black bike. He kept two bags in the trunk and went away. After 15 minutes again a call came to open the trunk. As soon as the trunk was opened, two people came and left with three bags. Then a young man came and took my phone. He gave the same iPhone which was given to me in Dubai. I checked while sitting and there were many videos and voice messages of Shubham. “I was asked to go to the room from there. After 5 minutes someone knocked the door. When the door was opened a person came inside. He said pick up the stuff. Some girls also came with the boy. I was taken to the car. As soon as he opened the car, he asked whose money it was?”, the letter reads. “I asked who are you guys? Then he told that we are from ED. That ED officer was Thandilal Meena. From the words of the ED people it seemed that they knew where and who had kept the money,” viral letter said. Aseem claimed that Shubham is not a betting promoter. The promoters are two youths from Bhilai.
