More than 5 lakh employees plan to go on strike on Friday for five-point demands
Raipur The Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers United Front has announced a one-day strike to push for its 5-point demands. A delegation of the employees on Thursday met the chief secretary of Chhattisgarh to submit a memorandum regarding the strike. “If we talk about the figures, 3 lakh 50 thousand employees come under the Chhattisgarh Class III Government Employees Association alone,” said the association office bearers.


Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association president Kamal Verma claimed that in the movement, more than 6 lakh employees of 145 organizations registered under various employees associations in Chhattisgarh will be on mass leave and all government offices will remain closed. The demands are the HRA should be given at the central rate on the basis of the seventh pay scale, dearness allowance should be given to the employees and pensioners of the state as per the date given by the Centre, the report of the Pingua Committee constituted on various demands of the employees of Chhattisgarh and the reports of other committees constituted to remove wage discrepancy should be made public, the salary hike of the employees should be done in four levels after 8, 16, 24 and 30 years of service as promised in the Congress manifesto and for the benefit of old pension scheme, total service should be added from the date of first appointment.
