Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel leads silent protest in Chhattisgarh to show solidarity with Rahul Gandhi

Raipur On the call of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Chhattisgarh Congress on Wednesday staged a ‘Moun Satyagrah’ (silent protest) on a Gujarat High Court verdict on ‘Modi Surname’ denying any relief to Rahul Gandhi.

A nationwide silent protest was staged on Wednesday to solidarity with the former AICC president. In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, deputy Chief Minister T S Singhdeo, Congress in-charge Kumari Selja, State Congress president Mohan Markam and other senior leaders led the protest at Gandhi Maidan in Raipur and it continued from 10 am to 5 pm. Assembly The Gujarat High Court has rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s plea seeking a stay on a trial court order convicting in a criminal defamation case over his remark on Modi surname. Even the High Court has not given relief to Rahul after losing the post of MP following the local court order.
