Baghel leaves for Lucknow to attend several rounds of meetings on elections
Raipur:Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has left for Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. Baghel will stay in Lucknow on Tuesday and will work on the election machinery.
Several rounds of meeting have been fixed with senior Congress office bearers and strategists in Lucknow. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will also be present in the meeting. This is the second visit of Baghel to Uttar Pradesh after he was made the senior observer by the AICC.
\Baghel’s fourth tour this month
This will be Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s fourth visit to Uttar Pradesh in October. On October 5, Baghel had reached Lucknow to meet the victims in Lakhimpur. However, the Uttar Pradesh government did not allow him and other senior Congress leaders to visit Lakhimpur. As a result, he had to return to Delhi. On October 6, he reached Lucknow again with Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. This time they succeeded in reaching Lakhimpur. Prior to this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended a meeting in Lucknow on October 9. He along with Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi attended a Kisan Nyay Sabha on the same day.
Compensation of Rs 50 lakh each given to UP victims
Chhattisgarh Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahariya visited Lakhimpur to hand over cheques bearing Rs 50 lakh each to the families of Lakhimpur incident victims
It is worthwhile to mention, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced Rs 50 lakh each for the family of four farmers and a journalist killed in Lakhimpur on October 6. On October 22, Dr Dahariya reached Lakhimpur Kheri with the compensation cheque.
Baghel likely to visit Himachal on Oct 27
It is said told that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will visit to Himachal Pradesh on October 27 to attend a programme in Mandi.
