Better supply system is necessary for ensuring adequate availability of medicines from ‘Mitanin Peti’ to Medical Colleges: Singh Deo
Raipur: Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister T.S. Singh Deo held discussion with the Chairman and Directors of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation and representatives of pharmaceutical companies from across the country along with senior departmental officers. Several reputed companies including Cipla, Abbott, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Bharat Serums, Johnson & Johnson participated on the first day of the two day National Pharmaceutical & Medical Equipment Manufacturers Meet organized by CGMSC at Raipur.
Inaugurating the National Pharmaceutical and Equipment Manufacturers Meet, health minister Singh Deo said that better supply system is necessary to ensure availability of adequate medicines from ‘Mitanin Peti’ to Medical College Hospitals. Without this, the goal of Universal Health Coverage cannot be achieved.
He added that CGMSC is constantly strengthening its supply system to make quality medicines available at the right prices across the state. By getting medicines at the right price, more medicines can be purchased for the state. Thanking the participants who took part in the meet, he said that your cooperation will help in speeding up the supply of medicines in the state and in stocking enough medicines.
A detailed discussion was held on the solution to the problems being faced in the supply of medicines and consumables in the state. Discussions were also held on increasing the participation of companies in the tender issued by CGMSC for the supply of medicines, the problems faced by the suppliers in the present tender process and their solutions, new technologies available in the field of medicines, future action plan. Participating companies gave their feedback and suggestions on the current tender process and how to improve it.
