In a shocking incident from Abhanpur in Raipur, a headmaster was caught on CCTV assaulting a woman Block Education Officer (BEO) inside her office. The altercation began with an argument, escalated into a physical confrontation, and ended with the headmaster choking the BEO and slamming her onto a table.
The incident took place on Monday when Rajan Baghel, the headmaster of a middle school in Parsada village, visited the BEO’s office to push for category markings in his CR. During the visit, he reportedly pressured BEO Dhaneshwari Sahu to expedite the work, leading to a heated dispute.
CCTV footage reveals the heated exchange between the headmaster and the BEO. In the video, Baghel can be seen angrily throwing files on the table before escalating to physical violence. He shoved Sahu, hit her on the head with a file, and grabbed her neck, attempting to choke her.
The staff intervened to break up the altercation and escorted Baghel out of the office. Following the incident, the Raipur Divisional Joint Director suspended Baghel. BEO Sahu sustained injuries to the left side of her neck during the attack.
Sahu lodged a complaint with the Abhanpur police, leading to an FIR against Baghel for assault, abuse, and issuing death threats. Police have confirmed his arrest and stated that he will be presented before a court.
Sahu alleged that Baghel attempted to coerce her into doing the work under duress. “When I refused, he attacked me, choking me and threatening to kill me,” she said. Staff members present intervened and prevented the situation from worsening.
Abhanpur Police Station In-charge Siddheshwar Pratap confirmed that Baghel has been arrested. Charges include assault, verbal abuse, and issuing life threats. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
