Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi: Intensified drive to identify TB and leprosy patients kicks off 

Raipur: Under the guidelines released by the State Government, the intensified drive for identification of TB and leprosy has started today. This campaign will continue till December 21 in two phases. Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhari set out the campaign chariot from the Collectorate after flagging it off. 

Under the campaign, for the eradication of T.B. and leprosy, every patient with the symptoms of these diseases is to be identified, tested, and treated. In the first phase from 1 December to 15 December, Mitanins will be visiting every house in their area of work to identify potential patients of T.B. and leprosy according to their symptoms. In the second phase from 16 to 21 December, the patients of T.B. and leprosy identified by the Mitanins will be re-examined by the MPW and ANM of the concerned field. 

For the success of the campaign, the Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Prabhat Chandra Prabhakar has given necessary guidelines concerning the identification, testing, and treatment of intensive patients by chairing a meeting of the District Nodal Officer, District Program Manager, Divisional Medical Officer, Development Block Program Manager, and District Coordinator Mitanain. For the success of the campaign, appeals have also been made to other departments besides the Health department for assistance.
