From Gauthans to Odisha: Raipur SHG Members Embark on a Livestock Tour for Better Practices

Raipur: Under the ‘Krishak (Pashupalan) Bhraman Yojana’ of the Livestock Development Department, 37 female members and 8 male members of a self-help group associated with various activities including goat farming, poultry farming, and dairy sectors in the Gauthans of Raipur district were sent on a 7-day tour to Odisha state. The tour was flagged off by Dharsiwa MLA, Anita Yogendra Sharma, and District Panchayat President, Domeshwari Verma.

During this tour, the group observed the functioning of the Odisha Milk Federation Union near Sambalpur and visited the Central Cattle Breeding Farm in Chiplima. Subsequently, they will study modern management practices of dairy, goat, poultry, and pig farms at the Veterinary College in Bhubaneswar.
