Foundation Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Central University.

The 15th Foundation Day and 14th-anniversary celebrations were organised on January 15, 2023, at Guru Ghasidas University (Central University). Prof. Neelambari Dave, Former Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony at the University’s Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar at 11 a.m.The programme was presided over by the honourable vice chancellor of the university, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, through a virtual medium. Among the guests on the stage was the vice chancellor in charge of the university, Prof. Amit Saxena, the registrar, Prof. Manish Srivastava, and the dean of student welfare, Prof. M.N. Tripathi.
The Chief Guest of the 15th Foundation Day program, Prof. Neelambari Dave, extended her good wishes to all those present on the foundation day and Makar Sankranti. As he presided over the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal congratulated everyone on Makar Sankranti and Foundation Day and said that the university had started the Swavalambi Chhattisgarh scheme in accordance with the guidelines and the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020. Through this programme, we are continually working to help students become self-sufficient. To give the students an education that is value-based, experiential, and employable, all of the teachers are working together. In this context, Prof. Chakrawal mentioned that the Department of Rural Technology and the Department of Social Work has begun the work on mushroom production, which will be done on a large scale in the coming times and benefit the students financially. He said that to achieve the targets, a company has been set up under Section 8 to carry out various industrial and innovation activities. Cooperation of online marketing websites will also be used to monitor and market the production of mushrooms and other products. He pointed out that such enterprises at the university are already resulting in consulting offers. Prof. Chakrawal said, “We should do what we relish, but with the proviso that it should benefit society.” “At the same time, do the smallest task with your whole heart.”
In-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. Amit Kumar Saxena took a retrospective look at the arduous journey of the university with the contributions of many people and provided detailed information about the upgradation from State University to Central University.
After that, the Chief Guest, Prof. Neelambari Dave, former Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, flagged off the procession of e-rickshaws and bicycles acquired under the Green Campus Campaign. A handicraft exhibition by the Department of Rural Technology and the Department of Social Work and a medicinal tea stall set up by the students of the Pharmacy Department were other highlights of the celebrations.

Students from NSS and NCC who had won events and competitions were presented with certificates and medals by the guests present on stage. Shawls, shreephals, and souvenirs were given as gifts to the guests. Dr Garima Tiwari, an assistant professor in the department of forestry, wildlife, and environmental science, led the programme. The vote of thanks was given by Prof. Manish Srivastava, the university’s registrar. Attendees included department heads, teachers, officers, staff members, research scholars, and students in addition to deans of various schools.
