Former Minister Accuses Congress of Promoting Religious Conversion in Chhattisgarh, CM Bhupesh Baghel Retaliates.

Former minister Brijmohan Agarwal made a statement claiming that a new form of conversion happening in Chhattisgarh, where priests wear saffron clothes and pastors use the title “Swami.” He also accused the Congress Party of promoting religious conversion in the state and country. In response, CM Bhupesh Baghel stated that the BJP contests elections on the agenda of conversion and communalism. Brijmohan Agarwal also claimed that missionaries are tricking tribals into conversion and that those who leave their original religion will abandon their culture. In Bastar, tribal society does not allow burial or cremation after conversion to Christianity. The BJP has accused the Congress party of promoting religious conversions for appeasement and held a delisting rally in protest. CM responded that conversion and communalism are seen in states where elections are held and that the BJP works on these agendas.
