Forest dept takes action against illegal coal kiln operation

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Forest Department is continuously operating its campaign to prevent forest crimes in the state. A special team was formed under the instructions of Durg DFO Shashikumar. The team took prompt action yesterday against an illegally operating coal kiln in the village of Ghughuwa, Gabrakhar under Patan Tehsil.

Upon receiving the information, the Forest Department’s team conducted an immediate inspection. They seized an illegal sawmill frame and two saw bands and obtained information about a person named Giri, who was operating five coal kilns illegally on the land. The team also discovered a storage of about two tonnes of coal on the spot. A case of forest crime has been filed, and methodical action is in progress.
