Exceptional work of police personnel recognized, honoured with ‘Cop of the Month’ award

In a recent commendable development, twelve dedicated police officers and employees from Raipur district have been selected as the ‘Cop of the Month’ for February, highlighting their outstanding contributions to maintaining law and order.

Among the honorees, Sub-Inspector Santosh Puriya’s exemplary efforts in a successful operation to apprehend an inter-state drug trafficker, who was utilizing codeine syrup disguised as narcotics, were acknowledged. Additionally, the exceptional role played by Head Constable Bachan Thakur from Amanaka police station in the apprehension of six individuals involved in cattle smuggling was duly recognized.
Further accolades were bestowed upon Constable Sudip Mishra of Khamtarai police station for his instrumental role in locating a missing child and apprehending the kidnapper. Constables Kishan Banjare and Preetam Purna were applauded for their administrative prowess in the arrest of five suspects involved in car robberies in Naya Raipur.
The valorous efforts of Constables Pramod Behera and Babita Dewangan from ACCU led to the arrest of 14 individuals in a staggering Rs. 70 lakh insurance fraud case, highlighting their commitment to justice. Moreover, Constable Kuldeep Dwivedi’s diligent work in recovering stolen jewelry and cash worth Rs. 5.50 lakh from an auto-rickshaw underscored the police force’s dedication to combating crime.
Head Constable Ravindra Madhukar’s efficient management of traffic operations, Sub-Inspector Anubhav John’s impeccable execution of office duties at the SP office, and Constable Akhilesh Sahu’s exemplary task execution at the ‘Rakshit Kendra’ were also lauded and recognized.
Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh presided over the felicitation ceremony, where these deserving officers were honored for their exceptional service to the community. Also in attendance were ASP Kirtan Rathore and ASP Omprakash Sharma, who extended their congratulations to the honorees.
As a token of appreciation, the selected employees were awarded cash rewards along with certificates of good service and appreciation. Their photographs will be prominently displayed on notice boards across all police offices, stations, and posts throughout the district for the entire month, serving as a source of inspiration for their colleagues.
Expressing his gratitude, the Raipur Police Chief reiterated the department’s commitment to recognizing and honoring officers who exhibit exemplary conduct and dedication in their duties. However, he also emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found engaging in illegal activities or dereliction of duty.
In a related development, it was announced that a constable has been demoted to the lowest rank and three constables have been suspended for prolonged unauthorized absence. Two of the suspended constables were cited for negligence during detention, while one was found guilty of consuming alcohol while on duty. An investigation into these matters is currently underway.
