Empowering the Unemployed: CM Baghel Transfers Rs 31.71 crore to 1.22 lakh beneficiaries

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said the youth now have access to skill development training and ample job opportunities. During the online transfer programme of the fourth installment of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, he conveyed his best wishes to all the youth who received appointment letters. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing employment to youth right after their skill development training.

The programme witnessed the direct transfer of Rs 31.71 crore to the accounts of 01 lakh 22 thousand 625 beneficiaries, summing up the four installments of unemployment allowance for the months of April to July. The total amount transferred to beneficiaries so far reached Rs. 112 crore 43 lakh 30 thousand. Furthermore, Baghel symbolically handed out job offer letters to those who successfully completed their skill development training.

In his address, chief minister Baghel highlighted the government’s priority to connect the state’s youth with employment, emphasizing the signing of a project worth Rs. 1188.36 crore for the modernization of 36 ITIs. This project is expected to provide training in 06 new technical trades and 23 short-term courses, benefiting around 10,000 youth annually and making them employable for various industries.

The government also waived off fees for competitive examinations, such as PSC and Vyapam, while the unemployment allowance aided unemployed youth in preparing better for exams. The Chief Minister underlined the importance of direct communication with the youth to understand their aspirations, opinions, and hopes for the state’s development.
Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo praised the government for empowering the youth through unemployment allowance and focusing on the interests of all sections of the state. School education minister Ravindra Choubey emphasized that nearly 82 per cent of rural youth are benefiting from the Unemployment Allowance Scheme.
The state government’s schemes have been proving beneficial for all sections of society. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana provided an input subsidy of Rs. 20 thousand 102 crore to 23.42 lakh farmers, while the Godhan NYAY Yojana offered Rs. 525 crore to beneficiaries, farmers, cattle herders, cow dung vendors, and women self-help groups. Through the Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor NYAY Yojana, Rs. 589 crore 39 lakh was disbursed to 5 lakh 63 thousand landless laborers in both urban and rural areas. The government also waived off agricultural loans and irrigation taxes totaling Rs. 9 thousand 270 crore and Rs. 325 crore, respectively, benefiting 17.82 lakh farmers.
Furthermore, Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh’s overdue loan of Rs. 12.77 crore on women self-help groups was waived off. The government increased the procurement rate of tendupatta from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 4,000 and extended support price procurement to 67 minor forest produce items, making Chhattisgarh the highest collector of minor forest produce in the country.
Overall, the government’s efforts are aimed at uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the state’s population, providing numerous benefits and opportunities to different sections of society.
