Employees absent without notice will be dismissed

Notice for those absent for over a month without informing, direct dismissal instead of suspension

The general administration department of Chhattisgarh govt has decided to take a strict stance against government employees who remain absent for months without notifying their superiors. Such employees will no longer be suspended but will be directly dismissed. The General Administration Department has issued an order to this effect. The instructions specify that in such cases, the employee will first be given a notice, and if there is no valid reason for their absence, they will be dismissed.

The order from the General Administration Department states that government employees who are unauthorizedly absent for more than a month will be sent a notification letter to both their leave address and their last known address.
According to the department, employees must provide a reason for their unauthorized absence within 15 days of receiving the notification letter. The department emphasizes that if no valid reason is provided, the employee’s absence will be recorded as a service interruption in their service book, affecting their pension and other benefits.
The order further states that such service interruptions will be considered a forfeiture of their service for all purposes, including pension benefits.
The General Administration Department has instructed all government offices to resolve departmental inquiries regarding unauthorized absence within a maximum period of six months, without approving any leave for the period of absence.
