Education Top Priority in Chhattisgarh: Rs 100-Crore Modern Education City to be Built in Bilaspur – CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is placing the highest priority on quality education and the holistic development of students. In line with this vision, a historic initiative is underway to develop Bilaspur city as a modern educational hub. Acting on the Chief Minister’s directive, a detailed plan for establishing an Education City in Bilaspur has been prepared. Around 13 acres of land belonging to the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation has been earmarked for the project.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that the Education City will include a Nalanda Complex, where 500 students can simultaneously access both physical and digital library facilities. Additionally, three multi-storey buildings will be constructed, featuring 48 classroom units (each consisting of a hall, two rooms, and a toilet), enabling 4,800 students to attend coaching classes at the same time.

To support students’ academic and personal development, a 700-seat modern auditorium will also be built, alongside hostel facilities for 1,000 outstation students.
To promote sports and wellness, the campus will include an Astroturf sports field and a beautiful garden. A multi-level parking facility will also be developed to ensure smooth transportation and accessibility.

CM Sai stated that this ambitious project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore, and a detailed construction plan has already been prepared by the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation. Construction work is set to begin soon, and the Bilaspur Education City is expected to set a new benchmark in the state’s educational landscape.

Bilaspur has made significant strides in the field of education since the formation of the state. With the SECL headquarters and Railway DRM office located here, the city has carved a unique identity not only in Chhattisgarh but across the country. Bilaspur is home to a Central University, two universities, eight colleges, the Public Service Commission, Vyapam, and over 100 coaching institutes preparing students for prestigious exams like the IITs and other competitive tests, attracting more than 50,000 students from across the state.

“The Chhattisgarh government considers education one of its highest priorities. It is our unwavering commitment to ensure that every student in the state has access to modern resources, advanced infrastructure, and a motivating environment to nurture their talents and confidently pursue their dreams. The construction of Bilaspur Education City is a historic step in this direction. It will not only establish Bilaspur as an educational hub of Chhattisgarh but also provide thousands of youth with state-of-the-art facilities for academic learning and exam preparation. The Nalanda Complex, high-rise coaching buildings, digital and physical libraries, hostels, auditorium, sports ground, and green zones – all these facilities are dedicated to the holistic development of our students. I am confident that this project will take Chhattisgarh’s educational ecosystem to new heights and lead our youth toward a brighter future,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
