Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel lashed out at the enforcement directorate (ED) for allegedly torturing the people arrested by the agency on different charges with third degree. Talking to media, the chief minister said that the BJP cannot stand on its own in a direct fight with the Congress and therefore the opposition party is using ED to harass those who are not falling in the line of the BJP.
The chief minister said that the ED people hit an industrialist so much that he is still in the hospital. There are so many people who got hurt by the torture of ED which is forcing people to admit to corruption even though they are innocent, said the chief minister.
The Chief Minister further said that his government has been advocating for action against the corrupt people but selective action by the ED is beyond understood. This means that BJP is not able to fight directly, so how to defame it, because of this it is happening.
The Chief Minister said, “We have been in the government for 4 years and in these period one and a half lakh crore rupees have gone into the account of the general public. The government presses the button, whereas the money goes to the laborers, farmers, minor forest produce collectors. What corruption happened in this? This money could have been received even during the BJP era. Didn’t get it, then it went into corruption. The road was being uprooted and built. Everything went into corruption.”
Bhupesh Baghel said that the state has developed due to the statre government policies. Now when farmers, laborers, cow herders, forest produce collectors and food givers are happy with Congress government, the BJP is having a stomach ache, said the chief minister.
On the issue of reservation, Bhupesh Baghel said that leaderslike Raman Singh, who remained the chief minister for 15 years, are saying that the reservation bill was done at the wish of the Chief Minister. It has been passed by the assembly, not the CM’s bill. BJP people were also there in the assembly to pass the bill unanimously, they also gave speeches. But till now no BJP leader has asked the Governor to sign. Raj Bhavan’s legal advisors sit in the Ekatm complex, the governor is not signing because of BJP leaders.
