The 60th All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police (DGP-IG Conference) will be held at the IIM campus, Nava Raipur from 28 to 30 November. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will be in attendance.
To prevent any disorganisation, senior officials of the Chhattisgarh Police held a final planning meeting at the Dial 112 Control Room, Civil Lines on Tuesday afternoon.
The three-day conference, beginning on 28 November, will focus on critical national security issues. Cyber Security, counter-terrorism, narcotics control, and border management will receive special attention. There will be eight sessions in total: two on the first day, four on the second, and two on the final day. DGPs and IGs from across the nation will participate.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at the inaugural session, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the closing session.
All participating states will deliver presentations on their efforts regarding crime control. The conference aims to select a model state and issue common guidelines based on its best practices.
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and current Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh’s official bungalow is being converted into a temporary Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for the event.
Chhattisgarh is hosting this prestigious event for the first time. The previous DGP-IG Conference 2024 was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The New Circuit House has been reserved for NSA Ajit Doval, Deputy NSA Anish Dayal Singh, IB Chief Tapan Deka, the Union Home Secretary, and the two Union Ministers of State for Home.
Six suites and twenty-two rooms have been booked at the Circuit House.
140 rooms have been booked at the Thakur Pyarelal Institute, and 91 rooms at the Nimora Academy.
These facilities will accommodate 75 police officers, including DGPs from 33 states and 20 DGs/ADGs of paramilitary forces.
The overall security and logistical responsibilities for the conference have been assigned to ADG Deepanshu Kabra and IG Amresh Mishra.
They will coordinate with central forces, intelligence agencies, and the state police, overseeing the entire arrangement.
Two main representatives (DGP-IG) from all states and Union Territories will attend the conference.
Specific Officer Duties
Specific responsibilities have been allocated to various officers:
- IG Chhabra – in charge of food arrangements
- O.P. Pal – responsible for accommodation
- Dhruv Gupta – will manage the Control Room
- Other officers – assigned duties related to transportation and other logistical arrangements
Officers of Commandant or SP rank have been appointed as security in-charge at all VIP residential locations.
The duties will be managed in three shifts. IG-rank officers will be posted at the IIM venue.
