DD Nagar Police Crack Five Theft Cases, Four Held

RaipurDD Nagar police and the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU) arrested two men and detained two minors in connection with five separate theft cases in the city. The police recovered stolen items, including mobile phones and electronic equipment, worth approximately ₹2.8 lakh. The operation was conducted following directives from DCP (West Zone) Sandeep Patel and DCP (Crime) Smritik Rajnala.

A joint team tracked the suspects through informers and technical surveillance to solve cases reported between January and April 2026.

Accused Identified

The arrested individuals are Kabir Dhruv (26), a resident of Changurabhatha, and Salim Marai (19) from Ayodhya Nagar. Two minors were also taken into custody for their involvement in the crimes. Police records show that Kabir Dhruv is a repeat offender with four previous cases registered against him, including charges of theft and house-breaking.

Details of Recoveries

The police seized a variety of stolen goods during the investigation:

  • Four mobile phones valued at ₹2 lakh
  • Two temple donation boxes containing cash
  • DJ equipment including 12 loudspeaker units, an octapad, and an amplifier
  • Household items such as a gas cylinder, a cooler, and plastic chairs
  • Two water pumps and ₹1,950 in cash

Incident Timeline

The arrests helped solve multiple cases registered at the DD Nagar police station:

  • January 10–17: Theft of DJ gear and household items from Matkorwa Para
  • February 24: Theft of a donation box from the Kali Temple in old Changurabhatha
  • March 27–28: Two separate thefts of water pumps from under-construction houses in Ayodhya Nagar
  • April 1: Theft of four mobile phones and ₹12,000 cash from a residence in Ayodhya Nagar

The accused have been sent to judicial custody. The investigation team included DD Nagar SHO Ravindra Kumar Yadav and ACCU In-charge Sachin Singh.
