Raipur: Ramnarayan Shrivas, a student of a small hamlet in Korba district got admission Bahtarai Sports Academy on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He will achieve his dream of becoming an athlete after completing of his training at the academy.
Ramnarayan Shrivas, a student living in Bastipara Baniya village of Podi Uproda block, had a special interest in athletics. In his school sports competition, he stood first in 800 meters race and second in 1500 meters race. However, due to a lack of proper training, he could not make it to the state-level competitions.
During the ‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ programme of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in village Pipariya, Ramnarayan also got a chance to directly interact with Chief Minister. On his demand, Chief Minister promised him that he would get admission to the Bahtrai Sports Academy. Acting swiftly on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Sports Department made all the arrangements and Ramnarayan got admitted to the Khelo India State Center of Excellence, Bahtrai Bilaspur, and is currently in the assessment camp where his training has started.
