CM Bhupesh Baghel takes on Centre over Agneepath Scheme.

Dispatch News.
On Saturday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the youths getting selected under the ‘Agneepath’ scheme will retire at 22 when they should be starting their livelihood. The Chief Minister stated this while talking to media persons at the Police Lines Helipad in Raipur before his departure to Jashpur for the Bhent-Mulaqat programme.
The BJP abolished Old Pension Scheme and was in favour of the implementation of One Rank One Pension in the Indian Armed Forces. Now they have decided to implement No Rank No Pension.
The Chief Minister said that the Congress-ruled states – Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh – have restored the old pension scheme. He further said that the Chhattisgarh government had written several letters to the Centre seeking the return of the money deposited with it as part of the contribution of the employees of the Chhattisgarh government.
The youths getting employment under Agneepath Scheme will get Rs 12 lakh after retirement. What they can do with this amount with so many liabilities on them, asked the Chief Minister while slamming the Centre on introducing such a scheme.
A scheme like this is suitable for the countries with fewer populations, said the Chief Minister. In some countries, it is mandatory to get military training. But India is a populous country, and several people want to serve the nation by joining defence services. Defence services are now the victim of politics, alleged CM.

The Chief Minister also expressed happiness over Rahul Sahu’s discharge from the hospital on Saturday. Rahul was trapped in a borewell for 105 hours in the Janjgir-Champa district of the state, and he was rescued following arduous efforts.
