CM Baghel performed Bhoomipujan for construction of new government college building in Beltara

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel performed Bhoomipujan for the construction of new government college building in Beltara assembly constituency of Bilaspur district today.

In his address to the programme, Baghel congratulated the residents of the area for the new upcoming college. He appreciated the effective implementation of the government schemes such as Narva, Garva, Ghurua, Bari, Godhan Nyay Yojana, and RIPA in Akaltari village. These schemes have benefitted the common people and helped women of the village to become financially independent. Now a new college is being constructed in Akaltari to provide better higher education facility in the region, so that the children of the area do not have to go far for higher studies.

For the construction of government college building, an administrative approval of Rs 71 lakh has been granted from the DMF head and10 acres of land has been allotted in village Akaltari.

With the opening of the college in Akaltari, more than 500 students from 25 nearby villages will be benefitted, as they would not have to go all the way to cities like Sipat, Ratanpur, Bilaspur for higher education. The college will start from the academic session 2023-24 and the Higher Education Department has already appointed the staff and the faculty. This includes 6 Professors, 1 Principal, 3 Lab Technician, a Clerk and a Peon. From this session, three faculties including Arts, Science, Commerce will be started in the college.
