CM Baghel pays tribute to Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his death anniversary

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel paid a heartfelt tribute to freedom fighter and social reformer Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his death anniversary, which is observed on August 1. He stated that Tilak was the first to advocate for complete independence and played a crucial role in popularizing the inspirational motto of “Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it” instilling a sense of freedom among every citizen of the nation. Additionally, Tilak initiated public celebrations of Ganesh Utsav and Shivaji Utsav, uniting the countrymen in their fight against injustice. His significant contribution to India’s struggle for independence will forever be remembered and cherished.
