However, the development related to the meeting could not come to the fore, BJP’s state in-charge Om Mathur also reached here to pay tribute and held a discussion with the Chief Minister. Paying tribute to the martyred soldiers, Bhupesh Baghel told the media, “Our soldiers have sacrificed their lives while fighting the Naxalites. This martyrdom will not go in vain. Now the battle will be fought with more intensity.”
The chief minister said that the our jawans were bringing two naxalites after catching them. A Maoist was injured in this. The IED blast happened after two years. The facilities for the people have increased in this area. The jawans went 65 kms from Dantewada and carried out the operation. A befitting reply is being given to the Maoists by entering their dens. Action and operation will be further intensified. There is no intelligence failure in this, he said.
Baghel has expressed condolences to the victim’s family after meeting the families of the martyred soldiers at Police Line Karli. The Chief Minister has also assured all possible help to the family members. PCC Chief Mohan Markam, Bijapur MLA Vikram Mandavi, Dantewada MLA Devti Karma, Dantewada Collector, IG, SP and all the officials have reached to pay tribute to the soldiers.
The mortal remains of the martyred jawans of Dantewada were sent to their home villages. There was an influx of people in their villages since morning to pay their last respects to the martyrs. Along with the Chief Minister, MPs, MLAs, former MLAs and senior police officers also shouldered the bier of the martyred soldiers. The Chief Minister has told the affected families of all the martyrs, we all are with you in this hour of grief.
Ten DRG jawans were martyred in the Maoist attack on Wednesday. And a civilian driver also died. All the jawans were traveling in a pick-up van and this van came under the grip of IED at Aranpur in Dantewada. When the DRG jawans were returning from an operation, the Naxalites carried out their nefarious plans by blasting the IED.
