Chhattisgarh’s Swami Atmanand Coaching to nurture future engineers and doctors

Raipur: In a significant initiative, Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has unveiled a coaching programme designed to prepare school children for engineering and medical entrance exams. The programme, aptly named ‘Swami Atmanand Coaching,’ aims to provide high-quality coaching to aspiring students across the state.

Starting from September 25, 2023, this pioneering scheme will kick off in 150 centers strategically located throughout the state. These centers will be established in the main headquarters of 146 development blocks, leveraging Block Resource Centers (BRCs) and nearby higher secondary schools to facilitate online learning.

This educational endeavor comes as a response to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s announcement on Independence Day, where he pledged to offer coaching opportunities to students in remote areas who aspire to excel in engineering and medical competitive exams. To ensure the successful implementation of this ambitious program, all district collectors and district education officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of making necessary arrangements for coaching.

The coaching program will initially commence in government schools across Chhattisgarh, focusing on subjects crucial for engineering and medical entrance exams, including physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Each coaching center will appoint dedicated nodal teachers for these subjects, along with a chief nodal officer, often at the level of Principal or Senior Lecturer. The selection of these nodal officers will be overseen by the District Education Officer.

To encourage and support the efforts of these educators, an honorarium will be provided, with payments managed by the Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board. The coaching institute and student assessments will be developed and conducted by the Chhattisgarh State Educational Research and Training Council (SCERT).

To ensure widespread access, the coaching classes will be broadcast on E-Vidya Channel No. 72. Moreover, an online platform, Google Meet, will facilitate interactive discussions between students and subject experts across the 150 centers.

The ‘Swami Atmanand Coaching’ initiative represents a commendable initiative aimed at providing quality coaching to aspiring students, leveling the playing field, and nurturing future talent in engineering and medical fields across Chhattisgarh.
