Chhattisgarh’s innovative education approach is gaining traction, GOI eyes ITI courses, says CM Baghel

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said that the Government of India is considering integrating ITI courses into the 12th-grade curriculum, following Chhattisgarh’s lead. This move aims to enhance students’ skill sets and employment prospects.

In a programme held today at his residential office chief minister Bhupesh Baghel distributed combined Higher Secondary and ITI trade certificates to students, a pioneering initiative in the state. This novel curriculum, an outcome of chief minister Baghel’s vision, equips students with both academic and vocational excellence. He also handed out appointment letters to lectures under Teachers’ Recruitment 2023.

Addressing the occasion, chief minister Baghel highlighted the increasing demand for ITI-trained individuals in the job market. He emphasized that students can now earn ITI certification alongside their 12th-grade exams, unlocking new avenues for career growth.

Furthermore, the chief minister emphasized the importance of education in English medium through Swami Atmanand schools and lauded the success of the Swami Atmanand English and Hindi Medium School Scheme.

He also announced a transformative partnership with Tata Technologies, worth Rs. 1186 crore, to upgrade 36 ITIs. This endeavor will create job opportunities and align training programmes with global industry demands.

The initiative to integrate ITI trades into the 12th-grade curriculum has garnered recognition from the Central Government, indicating its potential to shape the future workforce.

The programme’s success has led to increased employment opportunities, vocational training, and the establishment of Rural and Urban Industrial Parks, further contributing to Chhattisgarh’s economic development.
