Chhattisgarh’s Innovations Shine in ‘Mann Ki Baat’: PM Modi Applauds Ambikapur’s Garbage Café and State’s Strong Resolve Against Maoism

Raipur
Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s innovative efforts and its strong resolve for Maoist eradication in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme is a matter of pride for all state residents. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed this sentiment, calling the special mention of Ambikapur’s ‘Garbage Cafe’ and the achievements of Indian-breed dogs by Prime Minister Narendra Modi an honour for the entire state. The Chief Minister was listening to the 127th edition of the programme in Shanti Nagar, Raipur, today.

The Prime Minister praised the Ambikapur Municipal Corporation’s unique initiative, the ‘Garbage Cafe’, which has set an example for creating a plastic-free city. This initiative provides meals to people in exchange for plastic waste, setting a fine example of cleanliness, recycling, and social awareness.
In Ambikapur, the Municipal Corporation operates these cafes to clean plastic waste from the city. Individuals who bring one kilogramme of plastic waste receive a full meal (lunch or dinner), while those who bring half a kilogramme get breakfast.

Maoist Eradication and Security Agencies
Chief Minister Sai said the state is proud of the shrinking impact of Maoist activities. He stated that the strong resolve of the ‘double engine’ government is yielding notable results in national peace and security. He noted that basic facilities are now reaching remote villages through the Niyad Nella Nar scheme.
He further mentioned that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has instilled pride in every Indian, and celebrations have now reached areas previously shadowed by Maoist terror. People want a root-and-branch end to the terror that endangered their children’s future.
The Prime Minister also lauded the decision to induct Indian-breed dogs into security agencies. Citing an example from a Maoist-affected area of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Sai said a native dog saved the lives of security personnel by detecting 8 kg of explosives. This proves that Indian-breed dogs are more adaptable, capable, and reliable.
Focus on Conservation and Culture
Prime Minister Modi also emphasised nature conservation, urging citizens to plant trees and participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree for Mother) campaign. The Chief Minister stressed the need to advance environmental innovations as a mass movement.
The Prime Minister called for celebrating the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, terming it the immortal expression of national love. He appealed to every citizen to spontaneously participate in its glorification.
Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, acknowledging his paramount contribution to tribal rights and the freedom struggle. Chief Minister Sai said Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas is a day to express gratitude to the great leaders who sacrificed everything for the nation’s independence and honour.
The Prime Minister appealed to citizens to share the innovations and positive efforts happening around them, so others may also draw inspiration and contribute to social welfare.
