Chhattisgarh Urban Body Elections 2025 Conclude Peacefully with 72.19% Voter Turnout

Voting for the Chhattisgarh urban body elections 2025 concluded peacefully on Tuesday. A total of 72.19% polling was recorded across the municipalities in 33 districts. The voter turnout included 73.07% male voters, 71.66% female voters, and 19.75% third-gender voters.

According to data released by the State Election Commission, some districts witnessed high voter turnout, while districts like Bilaspur and Raipur recorded comparatively low participation.

Highest Turnout:

Korea district registered the highest voter turnout with 84.97% polling, followed by Gariaband with 84.65%.

Lowest Turnout:

Bilaspur district recorded the lowest voter turnout in the state with 51.37%, while Raipur also saw a low turnout of 52.75%.

Third Gender Participation:

The third-gender community recorded 100% voting in Mungeli and Gariaband districts, while several other districts reported zero participation.

District-wise Voter Turnout:

Bilaspur recorded 51.37% turnout, while Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi saw 75.58% polling. Mungeli had 72.53%, and Janjgir-Champa witnessed 77.58% voter participation. Sakti reported a high turnout of 81.44%, whereas Korba had a comparatively lower 64.04%. Raigarh recorded 69.68%, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh had 78.52%, and Surajpur stood at 65.70%.

Balrampur saw a strong 79.85% turnout, while Surguja had 64.85% participation. Korea registered the highest turnout in the state with 84.97%, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur recorded 69.27%. Jashpur had 71.40%, whereas Raipur recorded a low 52.75%. Gariaband had an impressive 84.65% turnout.

Baloda Bazar recorded 71.30%, Mahasamund had 70.48%, and Dhamtari saw 76.00% polling. Durg recorded 68.08%, while Balod had 66.90% voter participation. Bemetara stood at 77.44%, Rajnandgaon at 75.80%, and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai at 83.50%.

Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki registered 80.06%, and Kabirdham had 74.10% turnout. Bastar recorded 70.43%, while Kondagaon saw 76.31% participation. Dantewada had 70.22%, Sukma stood at 66.97%, and Kanker reported 81.13% polling. Narayanpur had 70.71%, while Bijapur recorded 58.71% voter turnout.
