Chhattisgarh Unveils Vision for Rs 75 Lakh Crore Economy, Showcases Bastar’s Transformation at NITI Aayog Meet

Raipur
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday presented the state’s long-term development roadmap at the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Highlighting the transformation of Bastar, once a Maoist stronghold, he said the region is now emerging as a national model of self-reliance, employment generation, and development.

The Chief Minister unveiled the ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision Document’, aimed at making Chhattisgarh a ₹75 lakh crore economy by 2047 through the 3T Model—Technology, Transparency, and Transformation. The strategy targets a tenfold rise in per capita income and aims to double the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the next five years.

Sai said the state has launched ten focused missions across 13 key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, and IT. Governance is being redefined through digital tracking of schemes to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely delivery.

On Bastar’s development, Sai noted that 32 skill development centres are equipping tribal youth in trades like computer literacy, food processing, and healthcare. Investments are flowing in, with Nava Raipur housing India’s first semiconductor unit and an AI data centre. “Children who once gathered firewood now operate machines and laptops,” he said, adding that Bastar is becoming a hub for ‘Make in India’.

The CM reaffirmed the goal to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by March 2026, supported by rehabilitation, skill training, and self-employment programs. Tribal communities are accessing markets and entrepreneurship opportunities. Dhudmaras village in Bastar was recently recognised by the UN as one of the “Best Tourism Villages.”

Infrastructure is a key focus, with the railway network set to double from 1,100 km to 2,200 km by 2030 and over ₹21,000 crore invested in national highways. New cargo services at Raipur Airport position the state as a logistics hub.

Chhattisgarh is scaling steel production from 28 to 45 million tonnes by 2030 and aims to lead in power generation. It also became the first state to auction a lithium block—key for EV and green energy sectors.

With over 350 policy reforms, including online land registrations and incentives for rural education and healthcare infrastructure, Sai said Chhattisgarh is aligning with PM Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047.”
