Chhattisgarh: State’s average rainfall reaches 602.5 mm since June 1, Bijapur records highest rainfall

Raipur: The monsoon season has brought abundant rainfall to Chhattisgarh, with Bijapur district registering the highest average rainfall of 1049.0 mm since June 1, 2023.
According to the information received from the state-level flood control room, various districts have witnessed considerable rainfall levels, contributing to the overall average. Surajpur recorded an average rainfall of 545.3 mm, followed by Balrampur with 483.0 mm, and Jashpur with 476.7 mm. Similarly, Koriya received 590.5 mm, while Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur recorded 600.2 mm of rainfall during the same period.
In other regions of the state, Raipur district experienced an average rainfall of 711.8 mm, followed by Balodabazar with 599.2 mm, and Gariaband with 852.6 mm. Mahasamund received 652.4 mm, while Dhamtari recorded 620.3 mm. Bilaspur experienced an average rainfall of 620.2 mm, and Mungeli received 781.9 mm. Raigarh received 665.3 mm, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh recorded 525.7 mm. Janjgir-Champa witnessed 487.3 mm, and Sakti recorded 488.6 mm. Korba received 600.5 mm, while Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi experienced 561.2 mm. Durg district witnessed 486.3 mm of rainfall.
In other parts of the state, Kabirdham recorded an average rainfall of 481.0 mm, while Rajnandgaon received 677.7 mm. Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki experienced 775.1 mm, while Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai recorded 624.8 mm. Balod received 671.3 mm, and Bemetara recorded 467.1 mm. Bastar experienced 630.1 mm, and Kondagaon received 463.7 mm. Kanker recorded 551.6 mm, while Narayanpur experienced 542.3 mm. Dantewada witnessed 725.3 mm, and Sukma received 863.4 mm of rainfall since June 1.
