Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association along with two women self-help groups of Jagdalpur and Korba will be rewarded in Singapore

Raipur: The public welfare policies of the Chhattisgarh model of development are now being showcased and awarded internationally. Chhattisgarh has achieved a significant accolade at the international level in the field of minor forest produce processing; under this, Chhattisgarh will be awarded in Singapore in the field of sustainable development, poverty alleviation and women empowerment. To receive the Award, the team has already left from Mana Airport Raipur.

Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association along with two women self-help groups of Jagdalpur and Korba will be rewarded in the upcoming ESG Grit Award ceremony to be held on July 22 and 23 in Singapore. After the formation of Chhattisgarh as a state, it is the first time that women forest dwellers have received an international accolade. This flight to Singapore is not a normal flight for these women; it is a flight of their dreams and aspirations. Members of the Bakavand Van Dhan Kendra Padmini Baghel and Belabai Kashyap and members of Donganala Van Dhan Kendra Saroj Patel and Phulbai Neti, were accorded a warm see off, people shook their hands, clicked pictures with them and wished them luck for their journey ahead. There is a wave of joy among women of self help groups, minor forest produce procurers, especially in the districts of Korba and Bastar. This flight taken by the members of Van Dhan Vikas is a flight of hope for hundreds of such women and forest dwellers.
These forest dwellers of Chhattisgarh are filled of happiness, while receiving this award in front of more than 200 delegates from 150 countries; they will also narrate the story of Chhattisgarh model and sustainable development. In this ceremony, the presence of businessmen, bankers, investors, environmentalists and government representatives from all over the world will ensure the recognition of ‘Chhattisgarh-Herbals’ all over the world. This will give a boost to minor forest produce based industries. The ‘Chhattisgarh Model’ will be recognized as a model of sustainable development all over the world.
