Chhattisgarh Records Highest Number of COVID-19 Cases This Year, State Issues Guidelines for Districts.

In the past 24 hours, Chhattisgarh has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases this year, causing concern among the population. The state has reported 264 patients, bringing the number of active patients to 727 and raising the average positivity rate to 6.35%. While the capital city Raipur previously had the most cases, infections are increasing in other districts. The Raipur district alone has reported 54 cases while others such as Rajnandgaon, Surguja, Surajpur, Bilaspur, Durg, Baloda Bazar, Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Kanker, Narayanpur, Balod, and Korba have also seen an increase in cases.
Over the past ten days, the number of patients in Chhattisgarh has been on the rise, with 35 new cases on April 1, 22 on April 2, 47 on April 3, 48 on April 4, 59 on April 5, 102 on April 6, 73 on April 7, 81 on April 8, 52 on April 9, and 93 on April 10. In response to this surge, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel directed Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain to convene a meeting of district officers. Following this meeting, the government issued guidelines for all districts, including instructions to monitor individuals with cold, cough, and flu symptoms and to increase testing with lower daily testing rates. The Health Department also directed all districts to ensure the availability of medical resources such as beds, oxygen, and medications for COVID-19 patients and promote COVID Appropriate Behavior among the population.
